In this podcast, we’re going to be talking about some amazing things to help you get over overgiving. Hi, and welcome to this episode of the Overgivers Anonymous podcast. My name is Angela Mondor and I’m your host. Today I want to talk to you about tracking your progress as an entrepreneur and the secret to sustain business growth. Now tracking your progress can be daunting. I’ll make it easy for you.
But it is something that is definitely something important to your business growth. It’s also important to succeeding. Once you set a goal, it allows you to achieve the goal along the way of your goal setting, taking the actions that you require, tracking the process of your actions is actually the secret.
I gave it away right in the very beginning, but it’s true because when we talk about tracking. The successes. We’re tracking the actions that you’re taking when you are monitoring and measuring these things. You can look at the goal and say, you know, what actions have I taken along the way? How many of them did I say I was going to take?
Did I take them all right? Allowing you be able to look at that progress and see whether or not the actions are working the way you anticipated them to work. The Rockstar Success Planner that comes with the Rockstar Success Circle program is actually a key indicator. It allows you to be able to write down all the things that you’re doing so that you can easily see whether or not things are lining up the way you anticipated them to do.
It also gives you key clues on what actions are working in what aren’t. So when you set those clear, measurable goals, we talk about, you know, talking, about putting those SMART goals together, then when we put those goals together and we put the actions with the goals, we can look back and say, Hey, how’s it going?
What can we celebrate? What achievements have we accomplished already? Even if they’re little goals, even if they’re little accomplishments, like, yes, I did get on the phone four times. Like I said, I was going to, I had the calls that I wanted to, or I created the content I was going to and I posted it.
What are these things that you’re doing? Making sure that you’re celebrating the things along the way, but also looking for areas of improvement. Being able to see things and say whether or not they worked or they didn’t, and being able to pivot. Being more agile in the way that you’re handling these choices inside your business.
It allows you to be able to say, Hey, I want to accomplish this goal, and these are the actions I’ve said I’m going to do. I did those actions. I’m not seeing the results, because you have no control over the results. You only have control of the actions you take. So, if you say, yes, I took the actions, I didn’t get the results I want, now you can tweak your actions.
You don’t have to change the goal, but you can tweak the actions that you’re taking. This is why the tracking of progress is important because now you can maintain this accountability to yourself. You can stay focused on the actual goal and figure out what it is that you need to move and what actions you need to change in order to make it happen.
And you can adapt to a changing market as well. If things are sort of switching and moving through this goal progression, you can see and maybe adapt your actions towards what the changing conditions are inside the market. And allow you to be able to really elevate your business and actually accomplish these goals.
Maybe you’ve set goals in the past and you’re like, Oh, setting goals really is, it sucks because I never accomplished them or it’s difficult to tell whether I did. That’s where we come in, making sure there are SMART goals, making sure that you can track them, tracking them on a regular basis, setting goals for the year is one thing, but then breaking them down into smaller goals for your quarter, breaking them even smaller into monthly goals, and creating these non negotiable lists for the week so that you are actually working.
In small increments towards this larger goal, it becomes way less overwhelming for you and actually will take your business to the next level. ca. But even if you don’t join the Success Circle, making sure that you have an accountability group, somebody that you can rely on, that you can help with your planning and. I really encourage you to track what’s happening inside your business, whether you do it in a planner that’s physical, whether you do it on a software system, regardless of how you put together the tracking for what’s happening inside your business, keep an eye on it and review it regularly so that you can see where you have abilities to adapt and change, where maybe you can make some improvements into how you’re doing what you’re doing.
But tracking your progress and taking action and making these changes, that is a secret. And it will allow you to not only grow your business, but also achieve those goals that you were looking to create in the first place. I hope this helped you.
