In this episode, we have Tanya Saunders, a Nurse Anesthetist, Podcaster, and certified Pause Breathwork Facilitator. She guides you through conscious breath patterns to remove stuck emotions in your body that keep you blocked and from living in your authentic flow. Tanya lives in Arlington, VA with her husband, 3 kids, and 2 dogs. She uses her ambition, passion, and intuition to craft every breathwork experience.
Today she shares with us some of her insights and experiences and tells us a little more about breathwork exercises and how it can help us connect to our selves and our bodies.
When you are talking about the over giver kind of emotions that we experience, it’s usually anxiety, fear, and overwhelm. Once you understand how conscious breath patterns work and you understand how these emotions feel in your body, you will understand that all those emotions that are in your head are not in your body. So what you do is you take a breath to take a step back and get back into your body and get out of your head. And that is how you are able to down-regulate your nervous system and to think more clearly.
95% of us are shallow breathers because we just breathe unconsciously. It’s this world on autopilot. And 95% of us walk around in autopilot because we’re just not conscious of it. So most of us live in this unconscious world. And we have 60,000 thoughts a day and 90% of those are the same. And guess what? 90% are usually negative. So you’re you are constantly reliving, repeating, retelling yourself the same story over and over until you learn how to live consciously. How do you live consciously? You consciously breathe.
