Make time to practice think, exercise, and prayer: They provide us with daily fuel for our busy lives.
I know that I have been away for a while. I have been thinking about this particular rule a lot and wondering exactly how I was going to write about it. In theory I believe that all these things are important, yet I have not found a way to include them in my life. That being said I think a lot. Maybe I think to avoid the other two?
Personally when I exercise I don’t get any enjoyment out of it and it doesn’t seem to give me any short term pay offs as well. When I exercise, I tend to gain weight, I attribute that to the idea that I probably eat way too much after I exercise. I come home feeling tired, and think that I need to eat more to get more energy. I also feel drained emotionally by the exercise; because I had to mentally push myself to go in the first place. Being mentally drained usually causes me to eat as well. So based on these past experiences I conclude that I am allergic to exercise. :)
The next topic is the really tough one, the topic of prayer. Anyone who knows me also knows that I am not religious, but spiritual. Not because I am being difficult by any means :) but because I have not found an organized religion that either fits my belief system, or that can be followed without being a hypocrite. This is why I was struggling with this topic. Praying generally means you are praying to someone or something to make your life better, to fix things for you. I believe that we are all in charge of our own lives and the decisions we make. So if that is the definition then I guess I am unable to pray. This was an interesting thought process for me. I often tell people whom I care for who are going through difficult times that I think of them. I never tell people that I am praying for their families. That is because I truly believe that the power “in charge” is energy. I don’t believe that there is a GOD who controls the universe, but in fact I believe in the scientific ideal that there is energy everywhere that is neither created nor destroyed. When I think of people, I am thinking good thoughts for them and their families, and therefore putting positive energy out into the universe directed for them. When other people pray to their GOD I believe they are doing the same thing. If your intention is good, and pure you are positively affecting the energy and therefore helping those people. The best part of the energy idea is that if you are putting positive energy out there you have the pleasure of receiving it as well. On the flip side, if your intentions are bad, or to harm then you are putting negative energy out there and you will also be subject to that negative energy. I believe it comes down to cause and effect.
So how do I put all this into my everyday living? I think a lot, that I have covered. The exercise part, I walk an hour a day 5 days a week doing lunch duty for now that will have to do. Prayer I will continue to spread positive energy into the universe for everyone that I care about and convert negative energy around me into something positive. That is how I see this rule.
