Angela Mondor (She/Her): It can be difficult sometimes it could be difficult because you’re receiving negative feedback on social media. Maybe it’s difficult, because
4
00:00:35.800 –> 00:00:50.360
Angela Mondor (She/Her): maybe somebody close to you is telling you that your your dream is useless, or maybe you’re being told that your dream isn’t worth pursuing. There’s a lot of different things that can come up for us. Maybe you even have your own shoulds happening inside yourself.
5
00:00:50.360 –> 00:01:10.280
Angela Mondor (She/Her): And as an entrepreneur with a neuro diverse, spicy kind of brain. It can also be more impactful. Depending on how you deal with these things coming at you. So emotional resilience, of course, is important for us, so that we can try to maintain a sense of
6
00:01:11.390 –> 00:01:13.170
Angela Mondor (She/Her): dear. I say.
7
00:01:14.500 –> 00:01:26.760
Angela Mondor (She/Her): level headedness, let’s be honest. It’s not always. Every day is not gonna be a brilliant amount of level headedness. There’s gonna be days when all the things hit the wall.
8
00:01:26.790 –> 00:01:43.739
Angela Mondor (She/Her): But importance when we have an emotional well-being that we bounce back easier. Okay, and so it is a crucial skill. And so when you are thinking about building, emotional awareness is being able to acknowledge your own emotions
9
00:01:43.740 –> 00:01:57.100
Angela Mondor (She/Her): during your entrepreneurial journey. Understanding that these these emotions can actually influence some decisions that you’re making inside your business as well. And it can also impact your problem solving. So
10
00:01:57.600 –> 00:02:23.279
Angela Mondor (She/Her): there’s lots of different ways that you can arrive at building emotion awareness. You can practice mindfulness, self reflection, journaling, leaning on a group of people who can help you to see things from another perspective. I’ll tell you what there’s even. There’s a thing called goblin dot tools. It’s a little AI, it’s cute. Let’s say, for example, somebody sends you an email, and you’re like.
11
00:02:23.380 –> 00:02:51.990
Angela Mondor (She/Her): I don’t know how to take that. Is that a good thing or a bad thing. You can actually paste that in there and goblin goblin dot tools will tell you how it perceives it. So sometimes it helps. Take the emotion out of the situation and and let an AI tell you what it thinks. There’s different ways for us to look at these situations and having a group of supportive entrepreneurs around you, can help you because you can bring this to this group and ask them to help you to see things a little differently.
12
00:02:52.100 –> 00:03:16.210
Angela Mondor (She/Her): Acknowledging and recognizing your emotions is super super important. They’re your emotions, your the way that you see the world is important, and it’s not something to be overlooked or shoved into a corner. It’s valuable to understand your importance or your your emotions, and sometimes our emotions is well founded, and sometimes they’re just a little bit outside of reality.
13
00:03:16.250 –> 00:03:41.149
Angela Mondor (She/Her): Nice between my team groups that I’m part of from a an entrepreneur’s perspective and sometimes some counseling. These are some tools that I have used, either currently or in the past to help me to build this emotional awareness around what’s happening inside my situation. Journaling has also been really important. You can actually journal out how you’re feeling about certain situations and see how they’re mapping out around you
14
00:03:41.310 –> 00:04:08.760
Angela Mondor (She/Her): navigating these challenges and failures can cause some emotional feelings. And having a supportive network around you to help and enhance your emotional resilience can be really, really important. So making sure you’re building relationships with mentors fully entrepreneurs and people that you feel are valuable in terms of, you know their guidance. And you know, being able to get some feedback from them. That’s important to you as well.
15
00:04:08.760 –> 00:04:12.589
Always, always, always self care and stress management.
16
00:04:12.660 –> 00:04:31.929
Angela Mondor (She/Her): I know sometimes this can be difficult. But what are the things that you do that bring good care to yourself? So thinking back (202) 021-2020, the news was really really awful for me. I had a really hard time with it. So in 2021 I decided that all the time that I used to spend on social media. I’m now going to spend reading.
17
00:04:32.200 –> 00:04:39.599
Angela Mondor (She/Her): And I started reading. I read a lot. It was amazing how much time I replaced with reading, and I was able to read.
18
00:04:40.680 –> 00:04:43.969
I can’t remember. I think it was 140 books, or something that year.
19
00:04:44.380 –> 00:04:47.959
Angela Mondor (She/Her): from having never read a book before.
20
00:04:48.450 –> 00:05:13.430
Angela Mondor (She/Her): but I was able to choose genres of books that helped me to feel better about the emotions that I was having, so I was able to remove myself from these toxic news stories that were really causing me some serious stress to reading some some fictional books, and living in fictional worlds that were distressful. It helped me to bring that stress level management to a good place to bring in some
21
00:05:13.430 –> 00:05:28.370
Angela Mondor (She/Her): self care. I make sure that I’m going for Massage Monthly. That’s really important for my body. I need to make sure that my body is well looked after. I make sure I get. I make sure I get a lot of sleep. Sleep is really important to me.
22
00:05:28.370 –> 00:05:44.519
Angela Mondor (She/Her): So what are the stress management and self-care things that you can do for yourself. It doesn’t have to be expensive. It doesn’t have to be outlandish. But what is it? Maybe you just need to have a bath once a week. I mean, there are different ways that you can look at your life and think what are some ways that I can look after me.
23
00:05:44.610 –> 00:05:51.880
Angela Mondor (She/Her): This is going to help you as well. Maintaining this motivation and positivity. Bringing more positivity into your world is important.
24
00:05:52.130 –> 00:06:04.250
Angela Mondor (She/Her): How can you start to identify times when you would like to switch the conversation. How can you change your mindset change from being constantly thinking with the negatives to? But I think the positives.
25
00:06:04.640 –> 00:06:21.509
Angela Mondor (She/Her): if you’re somebody who always thinks negative. First, maybe you just need somebody who can say, Hey, can you think of that another way? Right? Or maybe when you notice that, you can say, Okay, hold on. How else could I have thought about that? Having positivity in your life is gonna really help your mindset.
26
00:06:21.510 –> 00:06:36.039
Angela Mondor (She/Her): Being positive about things is gonna change the way you see the world. And it’s gonna bring you a lot more opportunities which ultimately makes your business grow in a in a much better way. So you definitely will thrive when you build this emotional resilience up.
27
00:06:36.040 –> 00:06:59.890
Angela Mondor (She/Her): One of the ways you can do that is, find a Mentor group finding people who are, you know, also positive, uplifting, amazing human beings. We in the Rock Star success circle are all amazing, wonderful human beings, and sometimes we go through bad things together, but we’re always there to help and support and be positive for each other. Managing to make sure that, you know we are motivating each other, keeping that positivity alive, making sure that every
28
00:06:59.940 –> 00:07:23.080
Angela Mondor (She/Her): looking after their self care, bringing themselves to the forefront of all the craziness that’s happening in the world.
