I sat and wondered what I was going to write about today. I allowed myself to get out of the habit of writing, and this helped fuel the problem as to what to write.
I found two videos that inspired me, the first one is from thefunfactory.com
After watching this video I wondered how we could choose to find ways to enjoy our lives more. I know personally I am very focused on the tasks, and I can loose sight of enjoying the process.
What can you do to brighten your day? What brings you joy? What will you do to enjoy living. I once heard a great quote:
“we are human beings, not human doings”
This quote comes up from time to time when I need to hear it. Being present each day means turning off autopilot. How many times have you driven to a destination that you frequent, and once you get there you don’t remember much of the trip? We know how to drive there, we know the turns, the speed limits, and where the red light cameras are…. but do you see the people who frequent the bus stops? How about the people that walk their dogs at that time? We don’t see those things because we are on autopilot.
Tomorrow when you drive to work or another destination begin to see the people around you. You might even notice a beautifully planted yard that you have never seen before, perhaps it will inspire you in ways you never expected.
As I write this I wonder if I should save the second video for another day, but I think that it speaks to yet another side of the Joy equation. The second video is of a motivational speaker. His message is clear. Be thankful for your life and what gifts you have been given.
Every young person needs to be told they are perfect, that they are important. It is also important for those young people to believe what they are told. Those young people will eventually be adults, like many of you that will read this post. You also need to hear that you are perfect and that you are important. If you do not feel that you are perfect or important, here is one more video for you:
Take time each day to love yourself, to take care of yourself. Then share that love and care with those around you. Make each day full of Joy, the more you do the more joy you will have in your life.
