In this episode of Overgivers Anonymous, we’re going to be talking about outsourcing for your business. A lot of times we get stuck in this over-givers mindset of being perfect and what ends up happening is, we think “I can’t get somebody to help me because they won’t be able to do it the same way I can”. Or “It’s going to take too much time to explain how I want it done, that it’s not worth my time at all”. Or “if I outsource to somebody else, what if they don’t do it at the right time?”. And the list goes on. We think that we’re the only person who can get it done.
It’s time to get honest with yourself! You don’t really believe that. You believe that there are people who can do amazing things, you don’t believe that you are the only one that is capable. The trouble is, when you have been doing it all for so long, somehow you get it stuck in your head, that nobody else can do it as you can. So take a deep breath, because it’s important.
- You can let go
- Think about the person that you are aspiring to be. Does that person have a team? Does that person have somebody else doing some of the things for them?
- When you can identify the different pieces of the process where you can actually get assistance inside your business when you can start to let some of that stuff go to other people and that frees you up.
- If you pick somebody who has the right personality that would work well with you, has the skills to do the work and you keep that open communication between you, then soon you are not strangers anymore.
- What is your time actually worth? All too often, we’re spending too much time working on things that aren’t worth our time.
- If your time is worth $100 an hour, and you are spending four hours a week on organizing your emails or setting up appointments or doing things that anyone can do. Wouldn’t it make more sense to hire somebody who could do it, pay them 10 or $20 an hour, if you’re getting $100 an hour? The math makes sense.
- You need more time, to be creative in your business, to come up with really cool things to do, so that you can have other people help you implement.
- It’s not about turning your business over, you’re asking for assistance, and you’re paying people for that assistance. You are able to express how you want that assistance to happen inside your business. So you are not turning it over to anybody.
When you have the ability to spend your time on the things that are valuable for you in your business and growing your business while having other people do other things. That is when you start to really see the tables turn on your income because now you can have somebody look after the little things. Somebody can make sure that all the little pieces are looked after so that you can go on and make more money, impact more people and grow your business.
