In this episode of the Overgivers Anonymous Podcast, we are talking about the five powerful changes that you can make to take back time in your life. There is nothing more important to me than time. The idea of taking time to be with the people around me is very important and I love it when people make time to spend with me. So when it comes to time, there are some things that I do to make sure that I am using my time as effectively as possible.
The five powerful changes I would encourage you to do in your life to take back your time are:
- Creating boundaries around your time so that you can choose what you’re working on at any given moment.
- Protect your calendar. If you currently don’t have somebody who’s doing that for you, then I encourage you to be your own gatekeeper. When you put things in your calendar make sure that you are looking at it with the hat of the gatekeeper on. If you have an assistant who is responsible for being your gatekeeper, please empower them to make those choices for you.
- Say “No”. It’s perfectly okay to say, this isn’t the right fit, but I can help you find somebody who would be a better fit. “No” is powerful. And it’s simple, and I encourage you to use it more.
- Set your working hours. It is just as important to set your working hours as it is to set the time that you’re going to spend with your family. The most important thing to think about when you are setting time aside for either your working hours, family time or personal time is that it is important to be 100% present in each of those time periods.
- Setting time aside for yourself. We make time for the things that are important to us, and if we don’t make time for it, it’s not important. YOU ARE IMPORTANT!
