Time and time again (pun intended) we see the same old Time Management blog posts talking about how you can do this and that to get a hold of your time and success is granted “if you follow this N steps”. Fret not, fellow geeks, we’re not here to do that. This week, we bring you some direct tips about using a tool that can help improve your performance. That’s it. There’s no promise of success or miracles being sold here. Instead, we offer practical and truthful advice. Let’s dive in and take a look at what we have to say, shall we?

Sure thing, Time Management is an overused and banalized expression. That doesn’t mean it doesn’t withhold value. Not managing your time properly will lead to reduced availability. How much this will affect you depends, each person will have a different schedule and, therefore, be impacted in different ways. However, often enough we can see it resulting in considerable negative effects.

With that in mind, the first step to properly manage your time is identifying how it affects you. Understand that the same amount of time doesn’t equal to the same time. “oh but Geeky Girl, that doesn’t make any sense”. Think about it, you probably have a time of the day when you work better, don’t you? Most people do. If a morning person spends three hours working during the morning, they will perform faster and better than if they spend three hours working during the night. Or, if someone has children at home, they’ll probably perform faster and better when the children are at school, or sleeping. The same amount of time doesn’t equal to the same quality of time.

This is something that should be taken into consideration whenever you build your schedule. It can be tricky because there are a lot of outside influences – responsibilities, personal life, etc – that impose restrictions on how can one build their schedule. You have to find the workaround that serves you best and understand that your schedule is not a fixed thing. For example, if you have kids, your summer schedule probably won’t be the same as your winter schedule. Changes are normal and, often, welcomed. Don’t be afraid to reschedule to adapt to something new.

Acuity is a robust scheduling and appointment management platform designed to streamline the process of booking and managing appointments for businesses of all sizes. Acuity is made to take some dull tasks from human hands and automate them. There’s nothing more annoying than to waste your and your client’s time than going back and forth through several emails just to find out that Wednesday at 10 am is a nice time to meet.

By delivering tasks like that to the system to work with, you tend to get positive impacts on your performance, business, and personal life. Meaning, the overall efficiency of your whole team (including you) increases. That’s the impact that freeing time can have on someone’s life. And on top of it, your service quality improves.
