We&#8217;re gonna be talking about learning how to speak will help us all become more assertive and make setting boundaries easier.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Highlights:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Even in theatre school my friends and I would say, \u201cMan, this is really important. Like everybody should know how to do this\u201d. Just simple things like a physical presence, or how to carry your body effectively, how to speak well, how to warm up your face so that you can speak with enunciation. All of these suggestions are really helpful when we want to get up in front of people and speak.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The big thing you need to know about boundaries is that you can set them (and that&#8217;s scary) and people are gonna try to break them.\u00a0 You have to keep setting them.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You can say the exact same thing in the exact same words in two different ways and one way is going to be a heck of a lot more effective than the other.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You must be solid in your belief systems and know what your boundaries are and stand up for your boundaries. It&#8217;s not \u201cthe easier it gets scenario\u201d the more often you do it, but you will see the value in it.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Yes, I think it becomes easier when we do the things that we get comfortable doing, but there&#8217;s always a new \u201cuncomfortable\u201d. It is all about getting comfortable with being uncomfortable.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you&#8217;re going to give a speech to 20,000 people in a stadium, or if you&#8217;re going to present your quarterly numbers at the work meeting, the fear you feel is the same. In both situations, you have the same physical manifestations.
