Once again it is time for school to begin, I am surprised how quickly the air cools at this time of year. It was just last week that the temperatures were so high it was hard to even think of moving, and now we can leave our windows open at night for a cool breeze.
I work from my home office, and during the summer my house is quite full. My husband is a teacher, so even he is home every day. Tomorrow he will be the first of the clan to head back to work. Then The rest will be going on Thursday. We have had a great summer, filled with adventure and fun and now it is time to get back into routine and back to work.
I think is was about mid way through July when I noticed that my work was slowing down. I shouldn’t be surprised by it because it happens every summer. I still worked on other people’s projects and tasks, but I stopped writing my blog posts and sending out newsletters. I still taught classes and had a lot of fun meeting new people.
This got me thinking about how easy it is for routines to change. Sometimes it is s subtle change that causes upset in your routine, and other times it is a change that you have chosen. If I had chosen to go easy on my workload this summer to spend more time with my family I wouldn’t have felt as guilty about it as I did. The idea that I didn’t choose to loosen the reins, but instead that I just let them slip caused me to think that I should feel guilt. Guilt is an interesting emotion that we put on our selves, and we could debate all day on what you should or shouldn’t feel guilty about, but the truth of the matter is that we are all in charge of placing guilt on ourselves.
I chose not to feel guilt about taking time to be with my family, as that is one of the main reasons why I wanted to own my own business. I specifically asked to own a business where I would be able to put my family first, and as the old saying goes “be careful what you ask for”.
Having said all that, I am certainly glad that summer vacation is coming to an end and that I am going to be able to return to my own routines again. The house (my office) is going to be so quiet, and one of my first Geeky Girl projects is going to be to tape my training classes that I created this summer so that I can get it online for all of you.
If you are feeling that it is time for you to get back into a routine or that you are looking to learn a new way to put together a plan for your social media so that you can gear up before the fall gets away from you, I have developed a wonderful mentoring program where we will be looking at your social media in ways that will show you what you are doing right and what you can change to make it even better.
I am putting together two classes, one class will be in person here in Winnipeg, and the other is going to be virtual so no matter where you are, you will be able to benefit as well. The class will run for three months starting in October. We will all be in a private Facebook group so that we can all learn from each other, but the two groups will meet for 2 hours live separately each month. We will go over what happened with your social media profiles last month, and plan for next month together. During the month the private Facebook group will be there for you to ask questions, and share your successes with everyone.
With the amount of personal attention that you will be given for this mentoring class there are limited spaces available so that each of you will be guaranteed my time. Another benefit to joining one of these classes at this time, is that you will be able to get in on the introductory price of only $150.00!
Here are your two options:
